Our People

The church family
All those who are associated with the church in any way, of whatever age, are regarded as belonging to the church family.

Regular members of the congregation
We have about a hundred people who regularly attend services and other events. These are people who, in one way or another, are pointing towards Jesus Christ in their faith journey.

Church members
About seventy-five members of the congregation are church members in a formal sense. This means that they have committed to support the work, witness, and financial needs of the church. For reasons of privacy the names of members are not given here.

Deacons
The deacons are appointed by the church memebrs. Together with the minister (or moderator) the deacons are responsible for the spiritual leadership and practical management of the church. From this group the church members elect a secretary and a treasurer.

Moderator
When there is a ministerial vacancy the church members normally appoint someone from outside the church to chair important meetings and give leadership to the church. Our moderator is Mike Caplin, a member of Aldeburgh Baptist Church.

Minister
The minister gives spiritual leadership to the church, leads services, preaches, and offers pastoral care to the church family. Our minister-elect is Heather Marsden.
